Default mounting wing to C.F boot lid

Hello, I just after any thoughs or advise. have just purchased a APR CT200, rear wing (miata one). I have a Garage vary Carbon fibre trunk lid on my car, do you thing it will be strong enough to support the wing and associated loads it will create ? or am I better off installing it on the factory steel one?

Is it just for track purposes..

If so I would just get a spare trunk and swap it on when youre tracking.

Yes I mainly track it. CF boot is 4kg lighter then the steel one, so if I can keep it on the car I would like too.

Take a look at a few of the threads on this forum regarding wing mounting. There are some clever diy bracketry designs making use of the sturdier boot drip rail channel. The boot lid will flex and not transfer the forces well and will possibly allow an unintended angle change as drag pushes on the wing, so it makes a less desirable mounting point. The secondary benefit of drip rail mounting is that easier access to the boot is maintained.

QFT! Calculating 1/64th and 1/32th of inch for my job sucks big times! But since our products are shipped to US, no other choice. Metric is so easier (faster for the brain to compute I'd say) to work with.

It was actually a reference to the film "Salton Sea". A drug dealer named Pooh-Bear deals only in pounds, none of that "faggy metric crap." He also snorted so much dope his nose fell off. He's a pretty cool dude:
