need a little help here i just changed all my breaks and pads to drilled and slotted rotors and new pads, and i bleed them all and they all work except the left rear i don't know what happened, but when i was putting it back to together the piston from the caliper was on the ground and brake fluid everywhere but i put it all back together and bleed them, and it doesn't work for some reason even with the e-brake and the brakes on i can turn the wheel with my hand...someone help me please

 

did you turn the adjustment screw in the back on them to move the pistion back so the pads were just barely touching the rotors without the parking brake engaged?

 

do you know for a fact that it worked before you took of old brakes
sounds like a bad caliper to me, how old is your car, year/miles?
you may want to get new/rebuilt calipers if they are old

 

i did turn that screw to move them back so i could fit the new pads i think it mite of broke because it fell out no clue im going to try now though, that probably is it il brb

 

its a 1990 its got about 169000kms, and how much are new or a rebuilt caliper?

 

once you back them out and siwng them back over, you must contract the piston back.

the pads should hit the rotor slightly, then back the piston back out again about 1/8 a turn.



the adjustment screw in the back will fall out, put it back and and try again.

 

if you can afford drilled slotted rotors you can afford new calipers...i would not put a caliper on my car that "fell out" that just smells like disaster, shop around they should be cheap and make sure you take yours in for most place charge a core, this way you'll get the lower price to begin with

k i fixed it i turned the adjustment screw for the piston now is perfect thanks

aha cut me some slack my cars been up on blocks for a month i had to replace my whole front end smashed it up by drifting ahah i was turboing it but i think im waiting till next year
