Default Rear ended 2001

My brother's miata was rear ended by some douche texting while driving. It has a 6 speed and the hard s suspension with 110,000. I was interested in buying it from the insurance company because it is the same year as mine and has some parts mine could use immediately (wheels and air filterassembly). I also thought it would be good to have a second engine to play with when I get to turboing the car

It was totaled because the rear differential housing was broken. I assume there is some rear subframe damage, and possible transmission damage. One of the cv joints might also be broken/damaged.

The insurance company wants 1200 for it. Do you guys think it is worth it?

Sure. Part it out to make up the difference in what you don't want to keep.

Parted out a 01 last month and got over $2500 in part sales and the front was totally smashed and it was an automatic

If you spend the time to part it out you will make money on this. What color was it?

The transmission, if not damaged, is worth well more than half of that.

Absolutely yes its worth 1200. I'd buy an asspacked 01 for that kind of money in a heartbeat. All the good stuff is in the front of the car anyway

Buy it, throw a new diff cover on, chain the back of it to a tree and pull it out enough that the trunk works and you got a nice driver.
