New Mexico. He's on the forum but not active. More like Active Duty.

Is it a 95 on Jack stands? Lol

At the moment I think I am trying to find a blue or black na with lower miles that's stock or close to stock. I rather do most of the work myself so I can learn. By close to stock I mean not boosted.

Yah. I'm actually not selling it (but i'm actually always selling it). It is only on jack stands because I split my downpipe when bending it. Out of frustration I made my sig and posted the trade offer.

Technically, I could return the car to stock and sell it to you with all the parts and you can just reinstall them and not have to worry about drilling the pan. XD I haven't actually started it with the turbo on yet.

Well i have had a slight change in plans.

Going to try and find rust free blue or black NA 94-97 that has been tracked or auto crossed with a decent suspension setup, wheels, roll bar, lsd, possibly a hard top maybe some seats... there are a few on craigslist right now. Just gong to drive it for a few years and after I am settled and can scrape up the parts ill probably drop a 5.0 in it.

Seriously WTF on that last part. There is absolutely no reason to drop a 5.0 into a miata. If you are going to swap in a V8 then an LS motor is the only way to go.

Monster Miatas were cool in the early 2000's before LS swaps came out. Since then there is just no reason to go with a 5.0. I would personally compare it to going with a Greddy setup on a 1.6 instead of a Begi Shenghai to save a few hundred dollars.

Is the difference between a civic and an S2k a few hundred and a few grand? They're about as comparable.

5.0 is a terrible choice for a miata, unless you find one of the rare (and $$$) aluminum block versions. The iron block ruins the weight distribution, and they make ~200whp out of the box and need extensive modifications to make potent.

Now a DIY budget 5.0 swap (ie stein iirc, and a few others) I can't completely hate on. It's cool, but for the price of buying a swap kit you may as well go LS.

^this. The 5.0 kits are definitely cool -- I mean, it's a V8 in a Miata. But if you're spending the money, might as well get it done with the engine that's worth it.
