I collected the entire 1986 Topps baseball card set by buying the packs with the gum in them, and trading cards among my friends. It was a PITA, so I just bought complete sets at card shows after that. I have every complete set from 1977 (or is it 76?) through the mid-90s when I more or less stopped caring. Last I checked though, baseball card prices had fallen a lot so if I cared I could catch up for not too much money. Meh.

My baseball cards and Garbage Pail Kids cards are neatly packed in my old bedroom at my mom's house. I've made it clear that if any harm were to befall them, I will one day choose a retirement home for her that is decidedly substandard. But I think she knows better, after the hell that broke loose when my uncle discovered that sometime while he was away at college in the 1970s my grandma had thrown out, among the other items in his collection, several Mantle rookie cards.

Grandpa was playing dumb and knew what he was doing...he sold those bitches. My stepdad did the same thing with my coin collection, including a super-rare golden dime.

Knowing my grandpa, that is highly unlikely.

My stepbrother tried to pull some **** like that one time. He was all trying to take my Little Ninja Brothers cartridge for NES and sell it so he could buy some lame **** for his Turbografx 16, and I was all like, "WTF do you think you're doing?" Not quite as valuable as rare coins, but it's the principle of it all.

Hey FTB, I just happen to have my complete top/window assembly sitting the garage. It's a 99 tan top, window with defrost, and the tracks. The top is cut but everything else is mint.

PM me if your interested. Maybe we can trade something?

You too? I used to have a bunch of good cards, but that was when they were still only a few years old, back in the early 90's. No telling what they are worth now, if anything. I haven't followed baseball cards since I was maybe 10. I hope my mom kept those for me somewhere.

Hope I don't get a brick through mine, it's a non zippered glass top from Robbins. Though it's pretty ratty and worn out, so I wouldn't be too pissed. HT will come eventually anyway.

Hey man, don't post if you can't contribute to the discussion. :Loser:

I have 20 or so cases of unopened Topps/Dunlop/Upper Deck/etc. cards from like '82 to '99 or so. It's a good thing my garage is air conditioned or I'm sure those wax wrappers and gum would melt. I also have a few hundred of the little bottle cap card like things, anyone remember those?

Sucks about your top though. I'd recommend living in your car. It worked for Jewel, bitch made millions and you know no one messed with her ride, err, home.

Worth ****. NPR just had a story a few weeks ago speaking to the 'youth's' lack of interest in baseball cards and the fact that only single 40 year old men with aspergers syndrome are willing to pay money for them.

Burn them in a pile of beanie babies.

Yea, I have about 4 cases of cards including unopened upper deck baseball. I have been saving them for my son (20 months old now). I was saving them for him before I even know 'he' would be born

I have a few books of cards from when my father was a teen including some odd collectable stuff. Sold 1 Bobby Orr rookie a few years back.

Last thing I sold though was a money ball from some all star game from like however many years ago... truthfully, it never really interested me all this collectible crap.
