Default spark plug gap

So i have some NGK iridium plugs and my car is completely stock, what should they be gapped at?

Iridums suck. NGK BK7s are where it's at.

Let me get this straight. You are asking plug gaps for a stock motor.......you are REALLY asking us this question.

based on what? I love them.

smaller electrode means higher current density means more reliable spark or the ability to run a slightly larger gap.

and the iridium is one of the hardest metals on earth which means they last longer.

OP: gap them to .038-.040 but be careful because you can bust the electrode off easily. most stores sell them pregapped for this reason.

okay perfect, i have them gapped at .040.
