Default spark plug gap

So i have some NGK iridium plugs and my car is completely stock, what should they be gapped at?

Iridums suck. NGK BK7s are where it's at.

based on what? I love them.

smaller electrode means higher current density means more reliable spark or the ability to run a slightly larger gap.

and the iridium is one of the hardest metals on earth which means they last longer.

OP: gap them to .038-.040 but be careful because you can bust the electrode off easily. most stores sell them pregapped for this reason.
