Attached is my datalog from about 5 minutes ago. First of all, the RPMs steadily rose from 1.1k (What they've sat at for months now) to 2krpms, and then settled down around 1.8-9k. I shut the car off after I noticed the CLTs shoot WAY up pretty quickly.

Note that the car has been parked for two months, all fluids have been drained. Is the rise in CLT due to an air bubble? System was working 100% before winter.

Oh, and I forgot to note, check out my IATs. Once again, was working fine when parked, now it's not... Reads 170.

 

My car almost always overheats after I drain the coolant. I've made it a habit to crank it and let it run for a few minutes with the cap off. Then go drive for 5-10 min. Then I just park it for an hour or so. After it cools I top it off and it's good to go.

As for the IAT's, I can't see how they're going to be that high at idle even under the worst of circumstances. I've had mine giving crazy readings before, unplugged it and plugged it back in and it was fine. Hopefully that's all it is.

 

What you need is a coolant burp bucket:



It seals onto the top of the radiator, and you fill it with coolant. Turn on the car and let the car run until the thermostat opens. Add coolant as necessary (keep the bucket filled to about half way). Once you are done, plug the bucket with the included stick, remove, install rad cap - profit.

When I drain and replace mine, I fill it up till radiators fills fully. Then start car and let it idle up, may take a while. eventually it will open up thermostat and let the water flow, add more water until it fills it back up again to radiator neck. Rev it few times out to 2k+ to add more water and get bubbles out. Once satisfied cap radiator and make sure coolant resovoir is full.
Drive around a tad abit and check coolant resovoir

 

Solved the IAT problem - two of the copper strands in the wire got crossed last time I plugged it in so I reseated it and all was well, read 49*, which is what it was at the time.

I will burp the system tomorrow and see what happens.
