stripped suspension shock bolt Need Help!!
Hello, i replace the shocks by myself and unfortunately, overtighten the lower shock bolt and stripped the hole in the right rear lower arm. Now i can't take out the bolt nor tighten it because it is stripped. Should i just replace the whole lower arm or i have another other alternatives. Thank you for helping.
why did you remove a bolt for the control arm in the rear?
same thing happened to me yesterday in the front (bent bolt), i just cut off the head, knocked the bolt out with a screwdriver and hammer, and replaced the bolt.

not the control arm bolt, but the bolt that connect the lower shock hole and the control arm. Which i think is a scew in type without a bolt nut.
Just put pressure on it when removing. Pry against the head while removing it and it should come out.
I bet it will have a bolt + nut in the future.
It is probably not stripped, but the nut that the bolt engages with in the control arm often breaks loose and spins with the bolt. I fixated it with a flat screwdriver from below when loosening and fastening. Its a bear to get it started on the bolt once its loose though.
Good luck

If you havent solved this already - Yes there is a square formed nut in there, held in place by a metal clip sort of. I use a large flat screwdriver or similar from below, to keep it from spinning when I work on the suspension.
