It’s a difficult question to answer for someone else. We all have different ideas of the ultimate power plant.

While I have mad respect for LS V8’s I just don’t think it’s ideal for the Miata. Too much torque and not enough revs for my tastes. Then there’s the oiling problems and heavy over center mass. Just not the best match. K24 is a wonderful engine and well matched for the Miata, That gets my vote.

Circling back I don’t know how you can say the BP is unreliable. I’ve put a world of hurt on mine and it still keeps going. Perhaps another engine builder would change your opinion. That TSE turbo kit on a BP is hard to beat. Save your fabrication time for better things.
