Do you still have the support bracket on your intake? The one in the way of the oil filter? I remember reading on here that could be a cause of it. Got me.

I once turned a throttle blade into something that resembled a taco with a N2o backfire.

No I dont and I remember that thread. I still don't see how that could possibly cause that.

did you mill that down any before? Seems to me its must have been weakened before it broke unless you are running 50-60 psi onto a closed throttle body :P

It was the corvette chevrons. I've seen them cause failures like this before. They rebel against being put on a non-corvette.

Yes, if that were the cause there would be ALOT more broken throttle bodies out there.

A good friend of mine has had the same problem with TB's breaking on him a few times and I always end up replacing then. Well last weekend I was doing some routine maintenance and dressing up his engine bay i'll post a few pictures. When it finally happen to me LOL no issue I had a few BP TB spares for his turbo 1.6 setup and was back on the road in no time. All in all that problem has happen 3-4 times already. So you are not the only one who has had that weird problem happen too.

Must be a b-series thing. I've broken a mustang TB on my brother's BP setup. But I have never broken a stock TB on my mx6, even after pushing a good amount of boost on it. And I do not have an intake manifold brace on my mx6 either.

I think Emilio or Sav has had this happened and JB Welded his next...
so do you still have the support brace?

Oh and where is the missing piece? Not in your turbo I hope?
