I personally like the tinted tail look. I've been meaning to do so myself but I'm not sure which way I want to go about it.

I don't want to paint in the event that I want to go back to stock... unless miata tail lights are cheap. How much does a set of used tails run for an NA?

Oh and naturally I'd reccomend upgrading the bulbs back there. If I tint I'm getting some ultra bright L.E.D.'s. for what it's worth

 

Anywhere from $50-$150 for a decent used set. You might want to consider LaminX as someone previously mentioned, you can allways take it off if you dont like it.

 

I tinted them tonight and put them back on the car. Looks great, I did only 2 coats and it ended up darker than I had intended but I like it.
FWIW you can always just use some paint thinner and pull the paint off the lenses - bingo back to stock.
I will post pics tomorrow when its light.
