is this totaled?
Went to go look at it yesterday. The passenger mount sheared completely popping off the top rad hose, it doesn't look like the unibody is tweaked, rad support looks good too. There is some mashing of sheet metal where the headlight is, but yes, unfortunately kbb value for the msm is about 6 grand, depending on how much it's going to be, might total out. Regardless Ima buy it back anyway

So, was it your fault, or the Hyundai driver's?

Anyhow.... good luck on the rebuild. I wasn't kidding about my offer to buy either, FYI.

Owning more salvage Miatas will surely give me the superpowers to beat you in go-kart racing. I am determined.

One bulge means there are problems elsewhere. That's the problem with wrecked cars.
On my car, what we thought was maybe a couple control arms ended up being both rear control arms AND the spindle, AND the whole front subframe. Still haven't aligned it to know if the rest of the car is straight.
Make them pay you fair value for it (At least $8k). Buy it back. THEN decide what to do with it.

I deal with a lot, actually only wrecked cars and that is an easy fix. It needs a little pull and that rail will straighten out. Since it didn't blow the bags I think they'll fix, unless it's got a lot of miles. Most insurance companies are 70-75% of ACV.
yes!!!!!! another salvage miata ..... for sure buy it back !!!! don't let the insurance take it please ..... and ed "turbofan" is a serious guy, depending on your location we might be able to take the MSM of your hands

Take a photo of where the upper core support meets the inner apron on the driver's side. That'll be the most telling about the extent of repairs it needs.
I see TX plates, if you're near Austin I can take a look at it for you, it's my profession.

It all boils down to how important the car is to you. If it were me, I would fix that car in a heart beat.
