Default Tranny problems/clutch???

ok, so today, i was on my way home from boston, i went to the royals vs red sox game. on the way back, i was doing some "spirited driving" on the highway.
well, i broke something...

symptoms.

when i press the clutch, i hear a light chatter, clicking noise

engaging gears, and disengaging gears is now troubled

the point of where the clutch catches seems to have moved, all the way to the floor

shifting between gears is tough, grinds sometimes

i have searched some of these things and came to a conclusion
now, im totally guessing, but throwout bearing?

everyone please give me ur suggestions, stories, personal experiences, anything, thanx

tranny is coming out sat, along with flushing clutch, and change slave and all that good stuff, , either way, i need to figure out what this is, id just like to know what im replacing, before i replace everything. this is my daily car, and i need it running by monday

Only 5 things to a clutch really: hydraulics, pilot bearing, throwout bearing, clutch, shift fork. Should find out pretty easy once you drop it.
I've never acutally -broke- a throwout bearing before, they can get noisy as **** and then come apart, but you usually have fair warning.

That sucks man. At least you were able to make it home. I ******* HATE breaking down!

If your pulling the tranny, do yourself a favor and get a better clutch man. Slave's are cheap, so that's a no brainer. Get a ACT package and be done with it.

ok guys, so it was the throw out bearing, it blew up
swapped it out with a new one today. i had the tranny out in 37 minutes
while taking this all apart, and cleaning it all up, i noticed my downpipe was cracked
upon further inspection, i found out it was broken in half.....
my friend is pretty crafty with a welder and we had it back in tip top shape in a few minutes.
car now runs around and drives fine, no leaks, no sounds, no problems

Do you have a flex section anywhere in your exhaust? That break looks pretty bad.

So taking the trans out was easy? I'm still trying to figure out if I want to do it at home or take it to work.

I have a problem too with my tranny/clutch. The release point of it is very high. I think it's my clutch that is worn out but not sure. When I make wot acceleration, 1st do 2nd is ok but 2nd to 3rd seems to choke up when I release the clutch and the rpm makes a big drop and it's pretty slow to reaccelerate. Here's a vid. I'll try to make 1-2-3-4 gear tommorow.

Just a bad clutch to replace or? Oh and my slave cylinder is leaking too, I must change it. Dunno if it change something to the problem?
