I'm considering doing an LS1 swap into my '01 next year. I've been a turbo guy for a long time but would really like the simplicity of a factory ECU running HPtuners with great aftermarket support.
If Racing Concepts didn't have the 1 car track record of the conversion catching on fire, I'd seriously look into that route. I don't want the car to be sitting waiting for the stuff like a modified K-member or other things that I'd have to fab. I can wrench fine but can't welds so I need the hard parts to be bolt in. If V8Martin can get together with the other LSX guys and work on a kit for the LSX I'll probably do it next year.
Anyone else seriously looking at a V8 swap. I know most of you guys have NAs so you still have the option of the Ford 5.0. I really like the NB so the Ford 5.0 isn't an option.

I thought about it long n hard, but am not going to do it. I already have a complete 3.9L V8 from a late model ThunderBird that I picked up for the project, but am giving it up due to the high cost of the conversion.
Theres a guy here in tampa who does conversions, and uses the CTS-V transmission with great success.
I have seen his car in person, its flawless.

ya might wanna talk to him (He said he can do the conversion for under 10 grand for my NA) Only reason I backed out, is because I didn't have 10K to blow.

The advantages to having an american V8, specifically an LS2 or LS7 (aluminum block) far out weight the feeling of stomping someone with an engine which holds less volume than a typical bottle of coke.
