walbro fp questions
i bought a walbro 190hp fp from zoom zoom a while back and tried to put it in earlier today along with my supra injectors, afpr, and emba nd autotune... needles to say, the car didnt start... i then changed the injectors to my 1.8 injectors and my stock pump and the car started! i was told that i have to modify my walbro to work correctly? how exactly would i do that? maybe that was why my car wouldnt start... ummmm also, how can i check if my walbro works? i want to hit 230rwhp!
thanks, marlon

To see if the pump works simply hook up a battery tester via pos. & neg. leads and hold on to it because if it is working it will pump!
As for moding the wolbro to fit all you have to do is trim the stock pump holder thing down a bit.
The brain has a good write up:

Goodluck!

From your description, I say the pump is not working or was installed incorrectly. "Modifying" the pump is simple, as shown in the above link. If you installed the Walbro then the assembly should have been modified, right?
Did the pump come with an "install" kit? I see you have a 91. This means you need the install kit. Does/did zoom-zoom own a 90-93 or 94-97? If ZZ has a 94-97 then he didn't use an install kit, which means he didn't send you one, which means the Walbro was installed incorrectly because as far as I know the install kit is vital to installation.
Don't give up on the Walbro yet. (If it passes the above suggested test.) Re-install it, make sure the power clip on the pump is secure, check all your connections.
And make sure the underdash yellow clip that you disconnected to depressurize your fuel system is hooked back up.

"walbro 190hp fp .. tried to put it in earlier today along with my supra injectors, afpr, and emba nd autotune.."
From that I gathered you installed all of these items. If that is correct then I had incorrectly assumed you disconnected the yellow clip to depressurize your fuel system.
If you already had those items installed, (and from your post I'm assuming that to be the case), then no, the yellow clip is not important to install the pump.
Did you click the walbro install link? I'm curious whether the pump you received had the install kit. Post a pic of the walbro modified to fit the assembly? If you don't have a pic fine, just look at the link and see if the modified one looks like yours did before it went in the tank.

i didnt even modify my walbro... is that why my car wouldnt start? hehe i installed the injectors, afpr and fuel pump at the same time... didnt disconnect the yellow clip... the link to the fp change shows pics and such, but not clear still... am i supposed to cut down the long rod and attach a hose to it and the other end to the walbro?

The Walbro is a bit longer than the stock pump. Did it fit / How did you install it? As far as I know, the pump available for our cars is 94-97 specific. It works just fine in the 90-93 cars, but with the slight size difference you need to cut the tube and attach the two together with fuel line.

I don't even undestand what you did.....if you had the stock pump out, it's obvious how to put the new pump in. did you just drop it in the tank and expect it to work without being connected to anything

Did you buy a used pump, and install it into your assembly? Or did you buy the whole pump and float assembly, and just drop it in?
The walbro 190lph hp pump is taller than the stock pump, so it couldn't have directly installed into the float assembly without some cutting. If you go through the pump "how to" you'll see all the pics n junk. It's pretty easy to do.
