Mine is screwed on the underside of the trunk lid. Needs two of them Moss trunk lift kits to get the lid to stay up.

We mounted a buddy's under the rear tray when we did his Hard Dog install.

even with my amp and subwoofer in just the bag pictured, I can still carry: a jack, two jack stands, a bottle brake fluid, a bottle of oil, a bottle of brake cleaner, a 50' extension cord, a power inverter, hardtop latches, a metric toolkit, random odds and ends like couplers and clamps, probably forgetting a lot and there still plenty more room to stuff things in.

If the amp on your floorboard in the trunk is taking up too much space you need to stop lugging around dead babies.

I had mine mounted to the center of the trunk floor where the drop down is and just made a false floor out of 3/8 ply wood covered it in carpet and done. Its out of the way out of site no wires in the way and still got tunes and can throw stuff in the trunk with no worries that it will get hurt.

The Alpine 4-ch amp.

A longer view

My Custom Sub box w/8" Kicker sub. (Before Sparco seats install)

Cheap JVC head unit w/ipod control - 2 ch of amp bridged to sub, remaining ch to 8" Clearwater components in the doors - Dynamat in the doors. When my better half rides I bridge the amp to the doors and run subless.

Mine is up on the wall in the trunk to save space for golf clubs. In other words, facing the trunk with it open, I built a small mount plate for both amps so they are facing you and mounted perpendicular to the ground when the trunk is open. No pics here at work though.

Im totally liking barbycar's idea the best. But, what exactly did you use? In my head, I'm picturing some type of metal brace on each side to bolt the amp itself to (cant have screws poppin through the topside of the trunk) I have a sony xplod 800 watt and its pretty long so I do believe I would have to center it on the lid.

HOW DO I POST PICS? ILL SHOW WHAT I MEAN.

putting it on the truck lid displaces the same amount of space as putting it on the floor...

its not that I have so much stuff in my trunk. long story is...I dont carry that much crap. I want my car to eventually be completely show car and I dont want my amp scratched to ****. the main thing I do carry in my trunk is a 3 drawer tool box. I take auto classes and its neccessary to carry tools and ****.the box needs to be laying down in order to fit and the amp takes some of that floor away. and how have you not started a fire in your trunk yet?? thats another thing that worries me. my amp gets hot as **** and putting things on top of it does not seem like a smart thing to do.
