Anybody know of a local 3d scanner I could utilize for a few hours? I've been trying to make 3d printed parts, but I really need some detailed scans to work off of. The photogrammetry I've been attempting has been failing so far.
Been working on designs for an entire front bumper, but I think I can do that without the scanning. I'm trying to get a model of the trunk area so I can 3d print a ducktail that will sit nice and flush to the trunk, and I need a scan of my dash area to mimic the curve of the gauge hood. My gauge hood broke and I'd like to create a new design without doing an entirely custom dash. Previously I've done an intake and radio delete panel with a gauge, they're on my build thread.
Hey Matt I remember you mentioning some aftermarket hardtop when I went to check out your rollbar, do you recall what the company was? I planned to acquire an OEM hardtop today but the seller was a dick so I'm looking for alternatives right now.
I was looking at the Treasure Coast tops earlier but I read that they aren't super good for street duty? It doesn't look the top is able to take OEM brackets or even the Garage Star brackets but I could be wrong. I might shoot them an email just to be sure, I might have to fit one if I can't find a decent one locally.
Treasure Coast tops are race only and will not come close to fitting around the front, the windows, and rear to keep wind or water out. Not their purpose. Side gaps will be huge because it's made for cars that have no windows.
Well as luck would have it I found a hardtop for sale in Bellevue and I picked it up today. I paid 800 for it which is probably too much but it should clean up nicely and it came with a hard top spoiler that I kinda like.
