I'll work on that. Did the real plane do that? I'm trying not to poke any holes in the "kegs", there a deposit I'm trying to get back after the race. lol

Think we came in 24th, not to shabby for 5 drivers with NO roadrace experience. Car was unstoppable, only issue we had was the alternator pivot bolt fell out and we found one that worked and replaced it and were going again.
Too tired to format all the pics ans videos, but here two I like.

Judges were cool! Liked the car, even tho it was a Miata.

Hey, I don't own a Miata, but I'd just like to say, that all of us watching the live stream of the race on the web, were pulling for SR71 the whole time. Your car was the best looking car this year, hands-down.

Dammit, I should have stayed.

Mike, when this ******* Nimitz tour is over, I'm coming back where the cool kids hang out. My daughter will be old enough to drink then, and I'm gonna hook her up with one of the Longshots Crew so I know she'll be hanging out with the right people.

Holy carp! I can't believe you guys actually ran with the wing in place. I figured that was just a showpiece!

I saw you guys on the live stream for a bit...totally awesome. No question you could out-corner the other cars, even with the wing on!

This 150K 1.6 spent two days shifting 2-3-4-3-2 at 7K+ and starts and runs fine still, amazing. We joked that we were just going to forget the trailer and drive it 400 miles home. Bet it would have made it.

PS: my lemons reroute is race proven and works AMAZING! Default fans on and it never even gets to temperature. We could run hard for an hour and than flip fans on and pit and open radiator, there was never any pressure.

Here some footage:

Ah yes, the 'ole pivot bolt syndrom. Been there, done that......
Didn't know what it was at first. Just would scream like a stuck pig when I would turn the lights on. Guess from torque draw on alternator.
Congrats on a successful outing and flatout good time!

Bad ***!!
You might want to look into steering wheel controlled ailerons to counteract body roll for your next event.
