LMAO!

Seriously, all are good in their own right, but if you were picking from scratch, general consensus is 94-95. Gets the 1.8L but is OBDI. Not better, just a bit easier to deal with emissions stuff.

best question would be: which miata is best to drift?
answer: none.

to answer first question. '94. various reasons spelled out in full elsewhere.

jrkoupe 05-07-2008 02:57 PM

drift.....

I know it may not be the bes car...but its his choice....and at 16 yo there is no swaying his mind.

I know from tracking Bimmers....obd1 tends to be best for mods.

Nothing good can come from this thread.

get him a 240 so when he crashes it...cause it will happen....it'll be cheaper to replace and or fix.

does he love drifting so much he leaves skidmarks in his pants?

reminds me of "Drift: The Sideways Craze" I watched last night. I couldn't stop laughing. Human Interest part of it was a 16yo trying to learn how to drift in his, you guessed it, 240.

UrbanSoot 05-07-2008 03:37 PM

i learned to drift in 240. then, you guessed, i crashed it.

You know, I couldn't agree more!!!!
A Miata is a terrible thing to waste drifting, there so many more modest ways to have one part with this world.

jrkoupe-are you sure it's not too late to beat some sense into a 16 year old?
Take him to a local auto-x and get him hooked on the proper line, and if that doesn't work, you can beat the crap out of him again, only with an big objet this time.
Good Luck to ya

Braineack 05-07-2008 03:43 PM

show him this.

disturbedfan121 05-07-2008 03:44 PM

i'm actually surprised that you are encouraging him to drift, i mean, its only gonna get his license taken away, or worse. Be a parent, not a friend.

and on a serious drift note, drifitng a miata is harder because of the shorter wheel base.

jrkoupe 05-07-2008 03:45 PM

drift.....

wheres the love to a newbie here?.......

I rather he drift an e 30 bimmer...I could build him one for under 3k

.........its gotta be a me yata......

disturbedfan121 05-07-2008 03:49 PM

no love for a newbie who asks dumb questions and posts like he's 15 and not old enough to have a 16yr old son.

roadsterdrift.com is what you're looking for

Based on what you just said, I assume he is footing the bill for this entire venture. If dad is paying for it, dad's vote for an e30 WINS.

I understand the sht wb issue and I agree.......point taken.

Zabac 05-07-2008 03:59 PM
