Good timing for this thread...I was thinking the same thing as OP and likely going with a china 3076 for my build in progress....

It would be HUGE if anyone running one can take accurate measurements as I know whats posted in those auctions is crap. I'm planning on doing a little mix and matching, and if it works I think quite a few people will be happy. Sub'd for pertinent info!

a 3071 or even a 3076 with a smallish A/R on a built VVT motor would be a track dominator.

If you had 275 rubber.

I'm having my a stock msm turbo upgraded with an EVO3 16G compressor wheel / new comp housing and TD05 turbine wheel. It will probably be a month before all is finished.

Note that your wastegate spring hugely affects spool. When I had a 15psi spring in my tial I could actually hit 15psi at 3500. When I went to a 9psi spring I would only hit 9psi at 3900 or so. That's because the wussbaby spring opens up the wastegate partially prior to target which vents out the spool goodness.

what kind of boost control were you using?
manual boost controller, an electric system like greddy, or an electric solinoid off the ECU?

I would imagine the ECU style EBC would allow you to make it 95% as fast... maybe 3550 in your case.

I'm pretty sure he's talking about running on wga spring only. adding an mbc would significantly increase spool and boost onset even with a whimpy wga spring of 7psi

I was not talking about boost control. Just external tial gate spring. Well if the ECU has boost assist then yes, it could be be as fast. I have the hydra though which does not boost assist.

Mine is a Garrett t3/t4e 57 trim, stage 3 wheel .60/.48 ar comp./turbine on a JGS 1.375 tube 4 into 1. Running a 2.5" exhaust with Dynomax muffler and resonator. It spools great...above 3800 rpm. Anything under that , it's pretty laggy. Above that, it's quite the little Supra.

My goal, however unrealistic it may be on my current setup(needz moar rodz, injectorz, tranz, rear endz), is 400whp on a 1.6l.

No the madness never ends...it continues.

I've noticed we have trouble making big numbers, but I do realize it's all relative. Who has the most powerful turbo Miata?
