Will 16x8 fit on nb miata?
So I am planning to fit my 2000 turboed nb beauty with some new and wider shoes.
now I am looking at some jr11 16x8 +25 wheels because I love the way they look at 16" and I want to have some more rubber so I was looking at 225
I read a lot of mixed opinions whether they would fit.
can anybody perhaps help me out on the decision on what rim size to choose and maybe also some tips on tire size that would go along with it?
thank you for the help

Stock is +40 and 205/45 so et35 and 205 (also assuming 205/45) fits fine as it is only 5mm (<1/4”) closer to the fender.
jumping to a +25 and. 225 (would need to be 225/40 to keep rolling diameter similar) would be 25mm or a full inch further out than std, so will hit on fender. You will need both a roll and a pull to clear.
fwiw, I run 8” et25 and effectively 225s and I had to heavily roll and pull my 2000’s fenders to clear, and it still rubs on mid corner bumps.
your spring rates/camber will also dictate by how much it rubs.. more camber allows the tyre to tuck under the fender better and higher spring rates keeps the tyre from hitting the inner fender.

tbh, its a pain when your tyres hit everytime you go over a bump, (you start to dread driving it anywhere) not to mention the damage you will do the the tyre itself. Having to regularly buy new tyres because they are cut by the fender isnt much fun either.
so, my recommendation is either suck it up and do the work to your car, ie roll/pull fenders, adjust camber to suit, assess/change spring rates, and put up with occasional rubbing
or run a 205 and have much less issues, will prob just need a roll not a pull, less agressive camber requirements.
or run a narrower (numerically higher) offset to avoid all these issues altogether.

Depends on usage. For street use then looks typicaly win, whereas track use tends to favour performance over looks.
I run 15s cos they are faster on track than equivalent 16s, and thats all I care about. OP may have different needs/wants.
