weird timeing issue
when I check my timeing, for some reason the mark is wayy to the right, by where the PS belt connects will the pully. Atleast thats what the timeing light tells me. It runs perfect like this, no knock and lots of power. I tried to adjust it all the way over to the 10 degree mark, and it ran like ****.
According to the light, I should be at like -40 degrees timeing lol, do you think it could just be the light?
It did this before the MS too.

Bring the engine to about 30 or 40° indicated BTDC. Pull the #1 plug. Insert a length of rod into the hole. Observe the movement of the rod as you turn the crank clockwise through TDC. An inexpensive dial indicator with base is helpful in doing this. You're looking for the dowel to peak at the exact point that the notch crosses the "T" line. If it doesn't, then as Ben said, your pulley has slipped. The pulley is two pieces- the center hub and the outer ring, separated by a rubber thing. I've never seen it happen, but apparently it's possible for the two pieces to slip out of alignment over time.
