Do the 1.6 and 1.8 share the same oil filter housing? Realized one of the fittings is borked on the new motor

I don't have a 1.6 so I can't say for sure, but from what I keep seeing in the oil cooler thread they probably don't interchange. Just bypass it for now until you can find a replacement, and watch it for oil leaks.

That's an oil-coolant heat exchanger. The 1.6 doesn't have those. Not too effective for oil cooling, but it brings the oil up to temperature more quickly. Keep it or delete it along with the small coolant lines, your choice. Some keep it just as a spacer. If you delete, you'll need swap the oil filter threaded nipple from your 1.6 over.

Actually I just went and pulled the remaining piece of hose off... Used some vice grips to try to straighten out the line... Looks usable to me lol
