I understand. I also would not want a "big" turbo. I just will have to see the dyno plot to see if its something I can work with.

Good to see something fresh going on...

Any updates on this? I'm thinking about going the NC route after driving one today.

Yes, hope to finally have it run next Sunday. Too many little items needed to be custom made and that has set us back, but we are closing in on the finish. The shop is moving soon, so it needs to run soon!

I was hoping you were going to say 1000hp and make my penie sad.

What fuel will you run?

Looks like the compressor inlet piping will be interesting. Not much room thanks to that alternator.

With how well setup this thing is, it deserves EWG.

My question is what injectors are you running?

Hey Brian, I've been researching NC ecu's the last few days, word on the street is you use Moto East's system. Are you at the point where you tune your own cars using the Commando, or you still have mike send you tunes back and forth?

Both this NCExtreme project and NCLIGHT use Motec M400 ECUs. If my recollection is correct we have 1000cc injectors in this one. Thus, these projects have nothing to do with the factory ECU or Mike's excellent tune work.

But our supercharged 2007 uses Mike's tune. Tried the DPTUNE that FlyinMiata sells but didn't have much luck with it. Mike's tune has been awesome. Yes, we did the simple email back and forth of the calibration to get the tune. We started with his basic tune, sent him some datalogs to fine tune the results, and he sent us a final that has worked flawlessly. Last on the dyno the car did 265hp with 235 ft-lbs. I highly recommend Mike's MottoEast tunes.

Does Motec still have that awful turning interface it had 3-years ago?

Why are you guys using Motec and not something more Miata-typical? Wifi/BlueTooth data to the crew while on track?

Both cars built from scratch, fully stitch welded as you can see below. They never had VIN numbers, never had factory ECUs, never had factory harness to plug that factory ECU into, etc. When you start from raw shell it is actually more trouble to get and use factory harness than to use something else designed for track abuse. Also, factory harness has failed a few Playboy Cup Cars, causing ignition issues, etc. If you don't already have a factory harness, not much need to buy the problems that come with it, all the connections on it we don't need, etc.

In contrast, our supercharged 2007 started on a dealer's lot, factory everything....so it continues with reflashed ECU.

Thanks, that's a recent change. Stayed up late thinking about cutting the freshly painted hood and finally just did it. Was able to drop some weight from the nose by going to much smaller oil cooler.
