So did the radiator explode, or did the cap blow off?

I had a guy here who bought a rad for his suby, installed it himself, then called us to complain that he was broke down and the cap failed.

So we take a cap and coolant and my tech and we drive to the parking lot he's limped to, only to find out that one of his hoses was rubbing the fan blade and rubbed through.

Then he's like "Well, I heard some noise after I installed it, but I didn't think it was important."

 

the cap blew off, and the very bottom row was missing a couple fins. could be that he's an idiot, but just informing thats all.

 

How come I didnt get mine for this weekend :(

I'm probably going to be a while. I'm going to fabricate a housing for the Ebay fans out of aluminum sheet but that has a back seat to getting the engine pulled and rebuild started. I even ordered a metal brake for the occasion as opposed to using 2x4's to make the bends.

 

I will install mine within 2 days of receiving it. Still waiting for tracking info. Nester said he was gonna ship today.

 

Rads just came in 5 minutes ago. We are working to get as many out tonight as possible before UPS comes for pickup.

 

Send mine first. I'm a nice guy.

and my current radiator is leaking.

 

everyone's rads shipped today except the 2 internationals and the one echeck that should clear tomm.

all of those should go out tomm. still have some more left for the stragglers.

 

oh and the lone NB guy... but he probably already knew that.
