AdBradley, I just spoke to Jerry at DIY. He says the setup will work with my car, and I can also use the MS to control boost. I am in for sure. #5. :)

adbradley 02-08-2007 10:06 PM

miatamania 02-08-2007 10:08 PM

I'm going to need....MS...IAT...Serial Cable...and to figure out how to wire it to the stock ECU...b/c this is what confuses me.

Savington 02-08-2007 10:20 PM

I am just in for the discounts, so I will order all the extras (IAT, cables, etc.) later. I just want the MS and the board mods.

true...

but whats the final price on that? $367?

adbradley 02-08-2007 10:27 PM

367 for the modded board... go to diyautotune for the rest of the prices... and add a lil for shipping

miatamania 02-08-2007 10:45 PM

I've already added the rest of the prices up, I just wanted to know the price of the board, and if that was the only thing we got GB prices on.

I've got a week...I'll see what I can pull out of my ass lol.

cjernigan 02-09-2007 12:30 AM

Ah, so so extra discounts on the other items. Thought they might knock a couple bucks off a stim or something. Oh well.

paul.ang 02-09-2007 12:55 AM

I'm interested in the MS for a 1995 1.8.
Pls tell me what do I need to order.

adbradley 02-09-2007 07:30 AM

paul, you can get the ms1 pcb V.3 fully built modded to work with your miata (idle valve mod, ignition mod) for $367 normally it would be about 30 dollars more. You will still have to get some various other items.. but this is a good discount on the main unit.
http://diyautotune.com/tech_articles...azda_miata.htm here is a link to show what will be done for you.

Dhaark 02-09-2007 10:22 PM

miatamania 02-09-2007 11:57 PM

My good sir...I'm in.

I'll just order the MS assembled and modded and then take car of the other stuff in a month or two...gives me plenty of time on how to understand/work with MS.

Has someone verified this? It looks like we have to buy a harness already built or build one ourselves?

I'm trying to figure out what else I would need for my 95...

1. Either the 2' bundle of wires and solder them into the DB37 connector or buy the 18" pig tail that is put together?

2. Tuning cable

Al Hounos 02-10-2007 09:50 PM

I bought an assembled harness, back when the onlly option was 6'. I've got a huge coil of wire under my dash. I wish the 18" was available when i got it. Do that. You'll need a serial cable, unless you already have one. and a USB adapter unless you laptop has a serial port.

Actually 18" probably isn't long enough if you mount it in the glovebox like me. It would probably fit under the stock ECU shield though.

Savington 02-11-2007 03:50 AM

Al, can't you clip the 6' harness down to whatever size you need and just trim the shielding back again?

Al Hounos 02-11-2007 12:00 PM

Yeah, but then I'd have to redo every splice and solder connection I made. And I'm pretty lazy.

and that really doesn't sound like a lot of fun...

I'd like to be in on this group buy. I'm a little hesitant overall, however, because of so few installs on 99+. I have a 2000. I know I need to CAS from 94+ or something. Still reading on this. Anyway, can't send you a PM, adbradley, because I don't have ten posts. Can you send me a PM with an email and I can respond. Maybe I'll just ask a bunch a newbie questions so I can get my post count up (not my preference)! Can I use the same mod's as you guys or will I need a unmodded assembled board and do mod's specific for the 99+ install?

I'm betting you could just get the assembled (but unmodded one) at the group buy price. As for the mods, I do not know, so I can't answer that...sorry

For a MS I PCBv3.0 Kit 179

look the rest up on diyautotune.com

the 367 price is for a ms I v3.0 built unit with all the miata mods... (cas input, and idle control) if you build yourself you will need to do these mods and buy extra parts.. read the install article on diyautotune.com and read up on the megasquirt forum here before you decide to buy.
