Travis any chance to see an open air gap test of your system vs. the factory coils? Meaning max gap video or photo. It would be a great selling point (visual proof) of the factory system vs WeaponX and seeing the real power of the coils.
Do you have any oscilloscope waveforms of the secondary ignition system in action? Specifically to see the multiple spark discharge. Although this I would assume is only at idle or low RPMs.
I saw the photo you posted but the plug gap looks factory...in open air anything can pretty much bridge that gap.

We actually scrapped the multi-spark. You can't do multi-spark on a wasted spark ignition system or you will be firing ignition events in the bottom of the intake stroke which can cause back fires. Even at idle it would be very close and you would have to run 16 degrees BTDC just to get one spark in. It was our original intent, and we can do it, just not with the factory system.
Theoretically even if the electrodes were round our system should be able to jump a gap of 2cm. With sharp points it could go as much as 6 inches probably. We could set something up like that.
We also do not have oscilloscopes capable of reading the secondary voltage. Its too high. We got our figures from WeaponX and we have no reason to believe they would be wrong.

We can't offer any further discounts. We've got hundred and hundreds of man hours and thousands of dollars invested into these kits. We have to get the capital back out so we can move onto other projects. It also takes considerable time to make each one, and it is made in America so the labor is not cheap. I'm afraid the best I can do is the price stated.
We actually did pickup an attachment capable of reading the output voltage at the spark plug. I also talked to the on staff electrical engineer about a gap test. He is going to set something up and get some pictures to me.

Its inductive kickback from the dumping of the inductive energy back into the system. You could see as high as 300v, but 30-40v is probably very likely over microsecond time intervals.

If your using another COP system, you're likely to have an inductive kickback, but this is probably 20 us time frame. If it happens over seconds, then its definitely a problem elsewhere.

If it is on that time scale then it is likely inductive kickback. Your IGBT's or transistors that you are using to drive should more then easily be able to deal with the spike. Dampening it with an RLC circuit tune would only serve to actually weaken your spark.

True - I do not have Weapon X coils.
I have been getting a lot of comm resets. The car runs fine however aside for some cold idle issues.
Could the regulator be going south ?
Tomorrow I will check grounds ( again ) and maybe have the alternator checked out.
If I can find my O scope I may venture to check/test with it but I don't know how I would isolate the spike unless it shows up as more pronounced as you near the source.

There was a **** load of posts on this in the actual MS forum but 99% of them have to do with people who built their own. Mine is a PnP so I don't know if the circuit topology or design has changed or if it applies to mine.
I could not read all of them but the causes basically broke down into components that needed to be corrected or changed such as capacitors, ground issues and alternator issues.
So it would seem that I should check first my grounds and then alternator for ripple and regulation.
