Haltech elite 750 on 2005 VVT?
I’m looking to buy a Haltech Elite 750 on the recommendation of my tuner.
On Haltech’s site they state their plug and play Elite 750 ECU works with 2001-2004 VCT (their term for VVT) and 2004-2005 Mazdaspeed cars. Upon emailing they restated what it said on the site.
So my question is this: is the 2005 VVT ECU/harness different from the 2001-2004? Is this going to be an issue across the board looking for a standalone? Is this just some oversight on their end?

I doubt you will have a problem, Haltech have a pretty good understanding of these cars. My Link pnp was the same IIRC. There is probably a couple of pins that the ECU doesn't need to use in the case of the non-VVT cars (pun intended). The harnesses may be different at the engine end, or both ends, but the ECU plugs will be the same,
What is the source of your concern?

My concern is that my VVT 2005 is not listed as compatible with the PNP kit they sell. It’s introduces uncertainty about what if any differences the 2005 harness has with earlier models, if more tinkering is required, if that’s exclusive to Haltech, or all stand alone ECUs…
or if it’s some kind of error and 2005s are the same and I’m worried about nothing.

Download the haltech wiring diagram. Compare with yours.

After this I continued to study. It appears that according to Claude AI the pin out of the VVT ECUs never changed. This was probably an oversight on their part.
