Thoughts, opinions? Looks liek this is going to be my baby for the winter until I can find myself something decent over here in Germany, beats the hell out of walking like I have been the last 4 months .

Looks good to me. How does it run?

 

Don't know yet, only seen it online, gonna go to Ramstein to check her out this weekend. Same motors as the 1.6 Miata's or are these the single cams? I can only find info on the euro 1.8's online but I'm pretty sure this is a US spec.

 

They came with quite a few different engines. If its non turbo, it might have had a SOHC b6, or possibly a DOHC BP. From the picture, that looks like the Familia Astina 5 door hatch. Not 100% on the engine.

 

OK I'm thread jacking my own thread.. Kinda.

The 323 fell through, so I'm now 99% sure I'm picking up a '92 Golf. Not too terribly excited about it but they're everywhere over here so parts should be easy to come by and of the 16 vehicles I've owned in the 5 years I've been driving I've yet to own a VW so why not?

So on to my questions..VW Vortex SUCKS, are there any better forums I'm not finding yet that are more along the lines of this place? Anything in particular to look at when I go to pick her up, looked at the usual things when I test drove her and she seems to be in decent shape with only ~65K miles on the odometer but never hurts to ask for input on those vehicle specific issues.
