True! Just turbo the 2.4

The 240 with the RB is some nasty ish.

At a meet from last year, there was some random dude that had a nice 15, 355 at the wheels. Demo highway pulls too. wheeeee. He was not a ricer.

240's were "cool" because they were sleeper. Cheep. Fast. Understated.

We all know what they are now, and it's a damn shame. Can't see one for sale without "DrIFt PROjecT!!" $6,000, cut springs......

Gotta find one from a little old lady.

SR20s are only really powerful with extreme builds IMO. My friend has an 800 HP sr20 altima (what a donkey). Either way, I respect turbo KA24s alot more.

Whoa, not a lot of love for the 240? ?? IMO it's a great car with amazing drift abilities. It's very easy platform to learn on and quickly lead your way to be a "master". No matter what engine platform you use there is plenty of torque available and i think it's one of the classics. Just because people were ricing out civics doesn't mean that the civic was a bad enthusiast platform, it just meant you had to go your own way and ignore the trends.

Oh how incredibly wrong you are. I'm not sure where you pull that from (I don't even think you could find that in your own *** :gay: ) Miata's are far from the best ANYTHING car, other than the most sold roadster in history. In fact Miata's make quite poor drift cars ATM. They have a rotational axis point that is too close to the front of the car causing spin outs, and are low powered so no throttle in = dead stop mid drift. There has only been 1 person in history who has qualified for D1 in a Miata, Ryan Hampton. He now drives the Falken 60's Camaro Drifter. People are working on making the Miata a more available drift platform but it's a lot more work than others are doing for the same results.

there are many techniques in drifting amd like i said the miata is a good high speed drift car, its probably the hardest techniques but if you got good at it it works. Ive never went drifting cause its not my thing but ive accidently got it loos around corners at around like 50 and it was very very controllable.

Yeah...I wouldn't talk about the miata when you've hardly owned one, the arguement from SOOOOO many about how drifting is easy is always about "I got it squirrley in the rain" or "the rear kicked out and" So much more involved than that it's pretty stupid to even suggest they compare.
It's seriously like saying "My car gets going to 30 mph pretty fast, I'm sure I can run a good 11 sec 1/4 mile" or even the likes of "I was just off roading in my backyard, and I think WRC would be a lot of fun, can't be too hard"

A lot of people have their starts in a 240 in some form or another, don't think you can talk to anyone in D1 who hasn't spent a fair amount of time in one (I would say not even the hard core trueno type). Essentially all of Drift Alliance were in 240's at one point, even JR who won last season in a Mustang. I can see why a lot of people would think them good cars to have, which yeah...basically they are. How someone treats a car shouldn't sway your opinion of the car it's self...elsewise johnclev6 I think a lot of members would have abandoned ship soon after you started posting.

I did, I wasn't targeting you specifically about the buisness of turns, it's just that it's an arguement so similarly used by many people and I'm showing to you why it doesn't work. If you read the second part of the post you will see where I very distinctly talk about 240's and their use. Yes I added a bit at the end but the whole discussion was based off your distaste for them and how they are treated. Well same goes, you have shared your insights as to how you like your miata and what you would like to do with it and some find it in dis-taste. Does that mean that they now hate miatas?? Nope, and you aren't the first person to come around with the opinions that you do. Though first in a long time willing to post on forums such as this one.

every car has it's loyal followers. 240 guys think the SR20DET is the best thing since sliced bread. rx7 guys think that anything with pistons is uncivilized. Supra guys think that 3400 lbs is "spry".

Me? I'm all about taking things at face value. SR20DET's can be good motors, but dollar for dollar, i'll turbo a KA24DE. Rotaries are novel, but if I want to have fun in an FC rx7, i'm dropping in an LS1. Supras are cool and all, but no, $2300 is not reasonoble for a catback exhaust.
