Not always true. This particular car (the $500 one) I contacted the seller on Monday and didn't give him a dime until I saw the car on Saturday. Frankly I didn't feel like getting another Miata so I figured if no one picks it up till Saturday it must be a sign

Here's why mine was so cheap:

It was in bumfuck nowhere and listed in "southern MD" craigslist sub-site (smd.craigslist.org) instead the hugely more popular "washington" site (washingtondc.craigslist.org)
Not running with description of "whole electrical system needs replacing". I called BS on that because I know the Miata electrical system pretty well and that **** is hard to "kill".

I bought my DD miata with 300k on it. So far I have about $700 into the car including the cost of it. I have since put 20k on it and it runs pretty good.
