Needs to be chocked - those straps will do little to restrain the rolling action under acceleration/braking. OTOH, darwinism at work perhaps ...

That's what the sheet of black rubber at the top, between the drum and the starboard strap, is for. The friction prevents the drum from rolling. I tested it for movement in the fore / aft direction, and it's quite stable.

This thing weighs maybe 10 lbs. You can pick it up with one hand.

Guys, can we all agree to keep the (overtly) political stuff in the political thread(s) ??

Pretty please!

The drum and I both arrived unharmed at Sears this morning.

On an unrelated note, the retro-gaming scene is starting to get weird.

Is it just me, or does that one protrusion at the bottom middle look like a nipple?

Oh, Chicago.

Found this on the running board of the rental van:

Yes, it is.

It actually remained in place throughout the whole duration of the rental. So I left it there.

Looks kinda small. Did an Asian rent the van before you?

I find it amusing that the two racks indicated in this photo are located approximately 45,000 miles apart:

The one on the right houses the satellite uplink transmitters for News Nation (formerly WGN America), AntennaTV and Rewind TV.

The one on the left houses the downlink receivers.

We treat ourselves just like any other affiliate, and downlink the signal off Galaxy 30 for broadcast locally. This has a practical purpose: since the local master control operator monitors the local channels, this serves as a reality-check on the health of the network source two rooms away, as well as the integrity of the affiliate control signals, the uplink, and the bird.
