In reality, most cars have, at any given time, always tended to look the same. Outliers to this rules are neither more nor less rare today than in the 90s or the 70s or the 50s.

They asked him why he had no protective gear.
He said the target needed protection, not him.
He also added the competition was not fair because the targets were stationary.

IDK. Maybe Hakan's parts stick out more than those of a French pole vaulter?

^ That is wild.

This was sent to me by a friend down in western Florida, where they've had a bit of rain lately.

You've heard of the Elf on the Shelf, but are you ready for...

I honestly did not know that the rear side windows rolled down on these.

No pictures for reference.

Based on what my peeps are telling me, the lowest-lying inland areas just east of SRQ / PGD got the worst of it. All of the runoff went there.

My family in Lerp are still dry, albeit without power.

I seriously do not understand why any auto / property insurance company willingly continues to do business in Florida.

Some of us live on high ground many miles from shore, and in houses built to the newer hurricane standards. We've had a hurricane pass immediately over us twice, and one was rated Cat2 as it went over (was a Cat4 at landfall). My house was fine. The crappy shacks built in the 1930s and 1940s down the road all survived. So did the 1907 built, termite-ridden farmhouse a few doors down. I credit the large grandfather oaks around the neighborhood for acting as windbreaks.

That's what's been brutal about this storm. The flooding wasn't storm-surge in the beach / canal neighborhoods, it's just runoff from the highest-level inland areas to the lower-level ones.

Also, by state law, if an insurance company agrees to cover a house at the top of Britton Hill (the highest point in Florida, at 345 feet AMSL), they're also obligated to cover Miami, Naples, Punta Gorda, etc.

Is that a new law? USAA was not writing homeowners policies in coastal counties for 15-20 years or so but would write them for inland county dwellings. But I haven't checked in 5 years.

Pic unrelated. County fleet manager wants to send a Bobcat to my auction. Says, "It ran when we parked it, so it should be fine."

Could be that it's an old law. Haven't lived there in 25 years.

Nice Bobcat.
