Somebody broke into my truck over the weekend. They took a pair of headphones that I paid a lot of money for. I'm not that upset about them. They also took a pair of sunglasses that I didn't pay anything for. They were a gift from my brother. I'm furious about this.
If you seen anybody wearing a pair of these in public with the paint chipped off the rivets on one side, shoot them first and ask questions later.

Sounds like the sort of thing that might be an urban legend, or might be true.

That is really, seriously screwing with my brain. I've never had a very good intuitive sense of multidimensional spatial perception, and that's just breaking me.
I mean, logically it makes sense. There is no "inner space" behind the portals, they merely reflect one surface onto another. So the stick man is going to be crushed by himself.
The part of my brain that allows me to visualize such things, however, rejects this.

You first marvel at the fact that you are getting closer to yourself without moving, eventually you think: "I bet I can kick my *** from here" - then, you swing and make contact with the "you" in front of you at the exact moment as you are surprised by the fact that the "you" standing directly behind you, which you hadn't perceived as a threat until that very instance, just kicked you in the ***. As you feel your *** kicked, you are pushed forward, while simultaneously you are pushed backwards by the leg you just extended in front of you. Your knee bends farther than you had expected it to.
At this exact moment, you understand that the "you" in front of you and the "you" behind you are converging on you twice as fast as you had originally thought, and running to either the left or the right was made futile just a moment before by the fact that the steel plates will trap you before you can make an escape to either side. In the panic, you decide to try your luck fitting between two much more squishy "yous" than to be crushed by the converging steel plates, a decision made in vain, as the portals do not actually create space, merely the illusion of it, and there is exactly as much room between the two moon-dust-coated steel plates with linked portals as there would be between two otherwise identical bare steel plates. Game over.
