Am I about to hate my life?
Then again, I was knocked out long enough the tow truck was next to me when I regained consciousness and the session had been stopped!
Heck, sounds like you should be buying '98 Accord as a DD so you can concentrate funds for track driving.
OR
Buy some sort of Tow vehicle as a DD, you should be able to find something with a decent tow rating that can match the mpgs of your mustang.
I like the hell out of the NC and have been moving between a truck, an S197, and an NC as a replacement of the Z28 for DD duties.
The only thing that I dont like about the NC is that its painfully slow. It feels decent at slow speeds which im guessing is the gearing but it because pretty obvious how slow it is above like 40.

I was part-way merged into on my bike by a semi on the freeway at 70mph, if there wasn't such a huge shoulder I probably would have wrecked something fierce.
I love my NA and would DD the hell out of it, terrible gas mileage or no. Sadly I can't do that until I move to Arizona or something so I can DD it all year round.

I suspect when the ND's come out, I'll easily be able to pick up a CHEAP NC to turn into the next track rat.

Never knew all that about the GTO. Dream squashed.
Drove an NC yesterday, dealer misrepresented it's condition so I was pissed about a 3 hour roundtrip and $25 in gas.
Going to go ahead and test drive an S2000 tomorrow as well. Never driven and much prefer the styling. I know it's been given a bit of a beating in this thread, but I'll check it out anyway.

Being a miata owner, I think the s2000 is really nice. However, I don't think I'd want to DD one.
Yeah, ad said new tires, new brakes. Brakes were basically on the wear indicators, three of the tires had date codes of 5107 (for the guys that don't know that means the tires were made in the 51st week of 2007) and were dry rotting between the treads.
Passenger fender had a few big spots of really poorly applied touch up paint and they didn't even realize after washing the car the drains are backed up enough there was an inch of water underneath the passenger side seat.
Yeah, I was ******* livid.
THe S2000 I'm going to look at is about 220 miles rountrip, guy said if I don't like the car, he'll fill up the tank in the 5.0.

I didn't buy the S2000 I looked at today, but I can say, I'm not sure why all the hate compared to the NC.
The interior feels better, the chassis feels stiffer, gearbox is better, and of course it's noticeably quicker.......it just feels more solid than the NC.
I'm pretty sure I want an AP2 S2000 now over the NC.

I've been driving my '11 GT for a few years now and it's been quite enjoyable. After daily driving a miata for 5 years, the mustang feels like luxury.
Sure the suspension is a combination of a Camry and a pickup truck, but it's the best it's ever been. Soon I'll be getting some tires, springs and shocks and I'm sure it will be a whole lot better.
The only thig I can complain about (other than the high cost of filling the engine with mobile 1 synthetic) is the feeling of the shifter and steering. Bother are pretty numb and soft.
Also, it doesn't even feel fast anymore. Needz boosts.

You were dropped on your head as a child, no?
Buying the NC now is not cheaper? Then adding a v8 later if you miss torque is not an option? I didnt know resale value was an issue either. 15k for an NC is pretty dumb as well.
