American cars I've been lusting after for some reason...
So it's time for a "daily driver". Granted, I have a 95 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS-T, and a Benz 190E. But I want a car where I don't have to work on constantly and rides comfortable. I'd figure I can sell those two cars and have enough for a decent downpayment on something more "luxurious".
First one is the Pontiac GTO. Not the "goat" of yesteryear, but the 04-06 models. Everytime I see one on the road, I just think it's the best bang-for-buck cruise missile out there. Two doors, 4 seats, RWD and snarling LS1-LS2 vette engine in the front. What more can I ask for? While in 95degree traffic today with the top down, a black GTO rolls past with the windows rolled up, the universe sign for "**** you, I have air conditioning", I can just hear him laughing. A stripped to the bone, no a/c, turbo miata is nice and all but........I'm I getting too old?
Second is, and don't laugh too hard.

I specifically like the 02 LSE model. I love squared-off, heavy-looking front end with flushed in fog lights. I see a lot on the freeways and it's a beautiful car.
I can't think of any other affordable v8 cruisers that I can take to Vegas and back in comfort. Any ideas?
Does anbody have any experience with either cars? Thanks.

Don't rule out the Caddy CTS. They should be plummeting in price with the 08 revamp coming out soon.
My sister just got one. The LS2 is nice. The Spec-V has the 6.0 and a manual.

*quietly crosses CTS from list*
It's outta my price range anyways. I'm looking for something in the low to mid 20's.
300C is nice, but it just looks too gawdy for me. I want something a little low-key and unknown. An older Volvo 850R would be a nice find.

There's an LS 3 houses down from me. Never knew what one was but I do like the low key looks of it. I'm starting to consider powerful family cars now too but keep coming back to '00-01 Audi S4s or an AMG C32 in the low mid 20's price range. Or a Leg GT maybe. I want something with a nice interior where I can put in a nice system and not here the outside world while I'm cranking music with the AC on.

my GTO is low 20's and has 11,500 miles on it
I've driven my friend's SS. The soundtrack and acceleration on the run from 60 to 100 are an absolute pisser, but the mileage is killing him since he drives 30K/yr.
SUV's and BIG sedan's like the Impala are out of the equation.
Phillip, nice price, with the supacharger?
