Chrysler 300C... I've always loved the looks of them. Finally a sedan america can be proud of.
300's were cool for a month, then every poseur had one... they just scream "baller on a budget" to me. I'd rather have a 4-door civic SI. |

Yep, the CRX is my daily driver. It is an HF and gets almost 50 mpg. I have had it for over 12 years. You can also see the corner of the bumper of our hail damaged '96 Accord EX in the pic, that is the grocery getter/beater. :bigtu: The TBSS only gets around 16-18 mpg so it doesnt get driven that much. We only put 8K miles on it in the first year.

I can give .02 on a 2002 Lincoln LS V8
My wife and I had one. Great car, Strong V8. Comfortable ride, all the electronic gizmos that could be offered back in 02. Rain sensing wipers, HID, memory seats and mirrors, MASSIVE TRUNK, supple leather, yada yada yada. Couple of issues that we had that the dealer took care of. Both the rear window motors failed causing the glass to drop, and the valve covers started leaking with about 26k miles on the car. Not a big deal either. At the time it was hard to find oil filters even into 2005. The oil filter was the same filter used on a Jaguar S type 4.0, I think. So, going to your local jiffy lube or auto parts store wasnt really an option back then. Dealer only. IIRC tranny is not serviceable either. We sold the car and got a Caddy SLS(yeah I am only 33, not 60) for my wife(that car is now gone too). I would buy another one, but my wife loves her Mini Cooper and I drive the roadster. No need for a third car. Hope this helps... |
Another pretty cool obscure car, if you can find one, is the 1996 or 97 SHO with the V8. It used a small displacement Yamaha V8, I wanna say 3.4L. Torque steer galore. Something like 234hp. Dont remember exactly. They only made them for a couple of years. That was back when FoMoCo was doing the design of cars based on shapes, Taurus(ovals) and the Cougar(triangles). It was a pretty cool car. I had one for about 1 year.

How about a 99-04 Ford Lightning? Fast, cheap to mod and they can tow.

The 190E has been a headache since I got it. And you thought Jaguar had electrical gremlins??? Not looking for a truck either. Phillip, your GTO sounds tempting, I'm going to do more research on it and other cars also. |
