No, what's funny is seeing all my friends' slim, sleek iPhones covered in big plastic bumper cases.

I missed it. Which non-made-in-a-third-world-exploited-slave-labor phone are you using again? Are you using one of these?

I actually have an Incredible and own no Apple products. I do have a decent amount of AAPL though.

Uh so what. It's a corporation not a charity. They will make their stuff where it's in their strongest interests to do so.

So are nearly all smartphones.

I don't have a cover for my SPIFFY NEW IPHONE 4ES and the naked phone is quite nice to hold.

PC vs Mac is retarded on both sides. If you are assessing a purchase, your decision should be based on your functional requirements and tastes. Given any individual, their requirements and tastes will change over time.

My SGS2 is so slim and light it's unusable, it requires a rubber case to stop the damn thing falling out of my hand!

Android UI just can't be compared to IOS, nor can any of the UI covers, (not tried sense though to be fair).

It's not the phone really it's the software, but that's the case with 99% of technology, and in the case of ios vs android, iOS whilst not perfect is a damn sight more pleasant to use than android.

Hell it's that clunky my SGS2 is slower to use than my 3Gs was

I guess I'm going to eat my words that I said earlier in this thread.

I stopped by the ATT store a couple weeks ago to see if there were any new phones that I hadn't come across in my research. My upgrade day was today. I noticed the HTC One X. I t has all the specs of the now-cancelled Skyrocket HD, and then some.

I just got one today. Yes, internal 16GB memory, no external SD, no removable battery. This is the closed box like the iPhone, but an android.

The screen is the best looking LCD screen I've seen. I've often made the comparison of the AMOLED displays being like plasma TVs due to the abysmal black levels. This is true, and is the reason I prefer plasma TVs (That and very low input lag for gaming). The only LCD technology that I am a fan of is IPS. The HTC one X has an IPS panel. Excellent color accuracy, along with AMOLED-like off-axis viewing, and the best LCD black levels I have seen in a phone to date are a few traits of the display on this phone.

I think 4.7" is about as large as I want to go for a phone display. When holding it in one hand, I can barely pull down the notification bar with my thumb.

The internet speed is pretty good too. 37Mb down and 23Mb up at my GF's house at 8PM. 4G LTE = Internet Pwned.

Anyways, if you're with ATT right now. The HTC One X is the phone to get.

I work for walmart selling the phones. Ive played with the One X a bit and it does have a very nice screen. The sealed battery thing bugs me a little but I could live with it. The no SD card thing I think will probably keep me from buying a phone. especially with only 16gb built in. With a slot, in my mind, it has infinite space.

Yeah, the thing that caught my eye was the screen. If it were another hum-drum LCD, I wouldn't have noticed it.

It comes with a free 2 year subscription for 25GB of dropbox storage. Pair the cloud storage with LTE connection speeds, and you've got a nice amount of data that is available on the fly.

I got 10.5 hours of battery life today with some heavy usage in some very poor signal areas. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

The problem with free cloud service is that they put limited on file sizes. Ive got like 8gbs with Dropbox and 50gb with Box and they are fairly useless.

That isn't so much a shortcoming of the phone or OS itself, it has everything to do with the shitty bloatware that the phone distributors install on them before they get into your hands. I run an ICS build on my Galaxy S2 with go-launcher EX and it's fast as ----. The problem is, most android owners are too scared to flash custom firmware for fear of bricking it that the majority of what people experience is the shitty stock crap.

Again, nothing to do with the OS itself, it's imposed by the carriers. They subsidize the ---- out of the hardware, therefore they reserve the right to ---- you over by loading their unusable crap onto the phone before it gets into your hands.

OK well this is where apple wins and it's a big deal. Same thing with how they got a toehold in the PC market.

Phones. You want em to work.

If you buy a $200 Android phone and expect it to be as fast and good as a $600 iPhone, you are an idiot at the very least. I have an Android phone (Sony Xperia S) that costs as much as an iPhone, but it excels in everything compared to the iPhone.

Processor? Dual core 1.5GHz
Screen? 4.3" LED with Bravia engine
Resolution? 1280x720 (so 720p)
Graphics chip? Adreno 220
Camera? 12MP stills, 1080p video
Storage? 32GB unified (so you don't have two partitions, one for O/S and apps and the other for data, its just one huge partition and you can use it however you like)
HDMI output port
DLNA
USB on the go (you can plug in keyboards, mice, other USB devices!)
NFC
Battery lasts 2-3 days
Charges in less than 1.5hr (1500mA charger!)

Yes, it is better than an iPhone. Boo.

Revererant, when talking about subsidized 2 year contract purchases, the most you can spend here in the us is 300. Currently the galaxy note and iPhone 4s 64 (32?) Gb iPhone sell for that much under at&t. I can't say much for the experia s as I don't have any experience with it.

On my second day with my one x I plugged it in at 19.5 hours at 25% battery remaining. I am very impressed with HTC's implementation of android 4.0 compared to my mom's iPhone 4s. it is much snappier and the reception is on par with her phone, if it isn't tearing the iPhone a new one with its lte dl/ul speeds.

I am a little disappointed they haven't released a quad-core lte capable phone yet, but I read the differences are marginal.

HTC>Samsung now. galaxy note can suck it, maybe until the lte sgs3 comes out.

Regarding bloatware, I don't know what that is now with this phone. Nothing running the background will slow this monster down.
