Thinking about replacing my S2 LTE 4.5 with the new Nexus 4. And lucky SOB get their order in before they sold out?

Leafy 11-15-2012 10:23 PM

Hustler is right, TW is the work of the devil, it's a horrible cover for vanilla Android.

Leafy 11-19-2012 08:29 AM

Just got a GS3. Holy shit they made TW worse than when I used it on the GS1. It really is touch aids. I immediately installed nemus launcher. I need to root this phone and get a custom rom on it STAT.

lol

CM10M2 is good, I've been running it and it's flawless for the last month or so. CM is now working on 4.2.1 code shich has some fairly significant changes so it will take time. CM10M2 is very good.

Leafy 11-20-2012 03:25 PM

^Yeah, exactly why I didnt understand the "OMG its the worst thing ever" opinion. Honestly TW1.0 wasnt that bad at all. We'll see what I go with. Typically I like something based off CM or pure AOSP but with another dev stripping everything out of it that doesnt need to be there, then adding gapps back in. Whats weird is that there are two different dev sections on xda, dev and original dev. Without a very good explanation of what goes in which section. Looks like slim makes a rom for it. Perfect.

I went to the ATT store (i'm VZW but an opportunist) and picked up the Galaxy Note 2 and played around with it. Haters gon hate but I don't feel it's unusably big. Of course ATT had all their anti-theft garbage stuck on it AND the flippy case too so that it was impossible to close the case or actually use the phone with your left hand. I had no problem ------- it and reaching my thumb across its copius girth.

I picked up the GN1 and shoved that in my pocket (size is comparable enough) and even with all the SECURITY PROTRUSIONS it fit in my pocket easily.

Did I mention I took a piece of ABS plastic and cut it roughly to the dimensions of a GN2 and shoved it in my pocket for an afternoon? It's fine. Maybe a bit of a stretch in jeggings but I'm over 14 and not a girl.

Screw you guys, I had to go back to CM7.2 to get my camera to work. I need a house so I can buy a new phone!

hustler 11-20-2012 05:53 PM

Slim Bean is good, coin toss between that and CM10.

Is that a phone in your pocket, or are you trying to breed charge me?

How's about a little NFC bump, baby?

seriously: could I install a Qi charger under my desk to charge while in my pocket? Or will I roast my nutsack?

My phone gets real hot when it charges. so  Does iQ work with the magnetic field or what? I know the germans were working on two forms of temporary male birth control one using voltage and one using magnets.

It all depends on how many kids you want to end up with. If you're done, go for it.

it's inductive. like a transformer that's in two pieces.

I don't think I'd charge in my pocket. I still want one more kid. First one is too cute to not have a second.

And it's Qi like the Chinese word for "life force" aka "chi"

Hmmm, it seems like juice defender doesnt work on the sgs3 with slimbean but with worked on the sgs1 with slimbean. Puzzling. Have to figure out how to make this work I guess or hand a new program that shuts data off when the phone is locked. Ok, it decided to work. Just took a while to enable I guess.

You haven't needed anything like an app killer since Gingerbread. Android has grown-up since then. The reason you rub Slimbean is so you don't have to run things like app killers.

I havent run an app killer since 2.1. Juice defender shuts off your data when the screen is off. I normally only use 40% of the battery now on a normal 7am to midnight day.

Doesn't this mean you'd have to keep checking your phone instead of being notified when you get an email or something?
