I agree on the feel. I've been through batteries on my EVO3D. The last one would last about 30-minutes off the charger, but luckily a replacement was $10.

Running the S2E4GT from Crawl (sprint) with ICS 4.0.3.

Last I checked a couple months ago there was still no official ICS release for my device, but what I'm running is a stock deodexed 'beta' leak from Samsung, minus Touchwiz. Shits seriously fast and battery life is boss. Pretty heavy usage throughout the day and average 22 hours on each charge, though most of my usage is on the office Wifi. Network data (depending on signal strength) will take anywhere from 2 - 6 hours of that life away. The _ONLY_ thing that doesn't work is Android's built in picasa upload option from the gallery.

Wanting the S3 hardcore..

Faux just released 008b8 with aroma installer. If you have a phone that uses his rom, this is the one to get. My sensation is at least 25% faster when compared to 007r2.

I have an AOSP rom on my HTC Inspire, and its overclocked. They arent going to be doing a carrier update for ICS for this phone, they cite problems running the rom on the phone because its older and underpowered, but this Rom works perfect on my phone and I rarely have any issues.

What format is the file in?

If its a zip you can just flash it in recovery.

Yay. ICS update for HTC Rezound released today.

concealer404 08-02-2012 12:51 PM

His and hers GS2 users checking in.

Her phone got the ICS update (we're on Sprint) just before she dropped it and shattered the screen.

My phone, nor her new phone have yet to receive the ICS update. ARG.

I'm a little frustrated that I have a 3-week old phone and can't load JB yet. The mobile device market is bullshit. I should be able to run whatever I want on any device I want. I don't understand how Microsoft can lose in court for not facilitating the use of competing products like Firefox or Chrome because they didn't have links to the alternatives on their website or whatever, yet we are stuck in this position.

If you can suggest a viable solution for these massive companies to increase the speed at which they produce releases, distribute and support them them to hundreds of thousands of handsets on hundreds of wireless carriers please reach out to them. I am sure they will love to hear your proposal.

They could release "pure" Jelly Bean like what the Nexus gets, that might help. I don't need Touchwiz or Sense, nor do I need all the bloatware.

How is it possible that AOSP, for example, already has a JB rom for the GS3, yet Samsung doesn't?

Upgraded to ICS last night, can't say that I love it yet. The new keyboard is a welcome addition. Now I need to root it.

Who doesn't use Swiftkey3? If you've never used it, now is the time to try it, the prediction is scary good.

I don't, can't stand it and the 'look' is needlessly fussy.

All I want to be able to do is view what I'm replying to in landscape mode, yet it seems to be an unfeasibly difficult thing to do on android.

Reverant 08-04-2012 03:09 PM

I also tried it and I am genuinely not impressed thus far - actually I prefer the stock ICS keyboard, which in landscape mode on my 4.3" display works really well.

elesjuan 08-04-2012 04:03 PM

It's hard to beat the stock ICS Swype keyboard, except the tablet version.. I hated that, so I quit using swype on my tablet.

Not this

I have a bigger screen but can see far less, pointless.

yeah that's no better, can you see anything that you're responding to as per the iPhone pic?

AOSP ported it to the SG3 and stability is not guaranteed. If you were a company like samsung would you rush the release of an OS onto your flagship phone only to anger consumers or would you thoroughly test it and play it safe?

If you want the latest and greatest from android as its available then get a google nexus. Hardware compatibility is guaranteed as they develop for their devices.

No, and I don't want to. The screen on my phone is larger than the entire iPhone and I can very easily type on that keyboard both in swype or touch typing.
