I didn't either...I was against ANY kind of refund based on principle alone. I never misrepresented my parts, and the condition they were in was normal and to be expected. All of the complaints were things the buyer should have requested information about beforehand.

NO! Absolutely do not send him money. He is trying to make you feel like you owe him that $300 since it was in your own words...another common tactic.

Also consider that you are now even more justified turning him down as he came off his refund amount so damn quickly it's not even funny how evident it is he's just fishing for whatever free cash he can get.

He wanted the guitar bad enough to bid that high on it. He won it and now he just wants to basically get the same deal, but a little cheaper than the other guys would have paid....which brings up another good point...there were other people willing to pay within a dollar of what he payed...and apparently none of them had any qualms about buying it sight unseen either.

Jay makes a very good point. As I said earlier, he will keep trying to sidetrack the debate with irrelevant points. The whole estimate demand, while clever, is playing into his charade.

Stay cool man...you're almost out of this one. At the worst your baseline loss is down to 20% of what you were looking at last week.

Thanks for the awesome reply dude! :bigtu:

Sorry to say, but I refunded the $300, probably as you were writing this. Now I can go back to work and keep selling on ebay. If I let it drag out any longer who knows what the end result could have been.

I emailed my bro and asked him what he thought about $300 and he said that was fine. He also thanked me for taking care of everything and that he was impressed I was able to "win" in a sense.

I know damn well that the fucker didn't deserve any money back, but I need to move on with my life. lol

This has been such a headache that it got me to headbutt my fucking door in my house! :vash: I'm just happy its over and done with and it was a good learning experience. Now I just hope my bro comes through with the $300 I just refunded.

I understand.

The sad part about this though is that these fuckers will keep pulling these stunts as long as we as sellers keep caving in. The system is stacked against us, and they know it. Only real win is standing your ground.

Don't feel shitty about it though...you did get out of what could have been a serious clusterfuck. I was fretting over a max $300 refund, and probably would have shit my pants when I opened an email asking for more than I've got in turbo parts.

I have been off line for a while, and was eager to get an update on your dilemma. It looks like it is over. I think you handled the whole thing pretty good. You stood your ground yet were reasonable in the end. Good job.

Go buy a monster turbo and go back to car talk.;)

1000 dollar refund to 300 dollar refund with no response made me laugh. If it were me I would have made him suffer and not given him a dime. But on the other hand I can understand the need for a quick solution.

Goes without saying, but give that dude a horrible feedback on any and every source you have his information on.
