Default Any RFID experts here? (arduino related)

We use 125K RFID at work and I have to carry one of those damn ID cards around. I'd like to clone the card to a keyfob. I've found cheap Ebay card cloners that come with 5 or 10 read/write keyfobs but that isn't how I want to do it. I'd rather FINALLY unbox the arduino uno I bought two years ago and learn how to burn a card myself. The only problem is that I cannot find any info on this. I see a ton of arduino readers but no writers (in 125khz). Anyone here ever mess with this stuff?

So why would you like to clone it to a keyfob? Curious

The primary reason - Fight the power! They want to lock me out of my work area, I'll hack around the damn thing.

Also, just something else to play with.

My Girlfriend does RFID for a living. Building a Spoofer should do the trick:
A Universal RFID Key

I purchased a $12 Ebay copier the other day:

The description on the ad says:

Copy and duplicate the 125 Khz EM4100 / EM410X card /tag ID for backup purpose.
--Support 125Khz EM4100 / EM410X or compatible card /tag format only (HID standard NOT compatible!).

It appears to work as far as copying one keyfob to another but it will not read my RFID passcard from work. I have been told that my card is indeed 125Khz but there must be a difference in it and the keyfobs. Any chance you can ask your girlfriend what my next move should be? I don't want to buy any further equipment until I can figure out what I actually have.

Serious question: If your employer found out that you were copying your RFID card for any purpose, even a benign one, would you risk losing your job?

I would hope they would write me up instead of termination but I am not happy there anyway. No one wants to lose a job but sometimes thing work out for the best. Seriously...

Subscribing to see if rmcelwee gets canned. Also because RFID is kind of neat.
