Anyone else here banned from m.net?
Apparently the mods were offended by my contention that rspeed sells to ricers and jdm fanboys and that they aren't a serious performance company. I don't see what is so controversial about this- anyone can discover this from looking at their website for 3 minutes.

The first day I signed up I replied to a post about how much nick holgan sucks ***** and how fugle brooke is, had some colorful language. They asked me not to use that language and that was all. I dont post there much.
It seems to be well know that m.net has a special relationship with their venders.

went through the thread...you weren't attacking anyone. You were stating that the guy's place is for lookers and not performance...which you were right. And then you were asking questions about the coilovers, which he had no information on. All the performance places have that information and demand it before selling it to the public.
Btw, the Miata crowd is so much more technical when it comes to suspension than the 240sx crowd. When it comes to engines, both are the same, but I think the 240sx crowd has more of an edge. But seriously, the suspension aspect, jesus. Never seen so much information in my life about what a 1lb increment of weight on a tire would do to the geometry of the car's front/rear weight biases. And I'm saying this in a good thing. I wish the 240sx crowd would get more technical when it comes to it.

It seems that a lot of the suspension and handling forum is full of guys who fap to drifting and jdm parts and are generally ignorant of cars. From that thread, I recognize:
* Foo Schnickens is a [deep-pocketed] ricer whose life purpose is to spread misinformation about IRTBs. Any thread that questions the wisdom of spending 3000 bucks to make 20whp over stock- he will attack that thread with a religious fervor unseen since someone informed vwvortex that stretched tires on 12 inch rims looked kinda retarded. His car is slow as **** and he knows nothing about engine modding, but he'll never concede a point even if all the other guys who own IRTB equipped cars come into the thread and tell him to STFU.
* Randy (phatmiata) is a notorious dickweed who runs a roadster forum which is full of ricers and JDM/Dorifito crap. He has talked and talked for nearly a decade about performance and his plans to go turbo, but he still has a 90 percent stock drivetrain. He's spent probably 10-20k on carbon fiber interior parts and useless JDM non-performance mods. To me, he is the typical Tein owner- a dorifto obsessed wallet mechanic who knows nothing about cars beyond what he reads in the ricer magazines and advertisements. His car drives like **** but you'll never get him to shut up about his pillowball mounts or his 2000 dollar jdm racing seats.

Ok, that's what I thought was going on. For a second I thought I was being unreasonable, but I never got that kind of runaround from FM, emilio or FCM on technical data. Bunch of three year olds in that thread.

Don't get me wrong, back in the day I got the D2's and they weren't bad. Nothing like my buddy's Tanabe's (which were amazing) but they did there intended purpose. The Ksport ones are similar to D2's but the support for them is huge. Hell they have a place in Az with a shock dyno where you can get custom made valve adjustments and springs.
All in all, it was dumb of that guy to get all huffy when questions are asked and to be called out on his intended market. Sorry but he has replacement parts and "upgrades" of the basic nature. Definately not a performance shop. I'll take my Bilstein's any day.

Honestly I don't trust rspeed to ask the right questions of their suppliers. Even with the best intentions on their part, there are a ton of potential agency problems here due to their apparent lack of expertise in this area. They could be getting an awesome deal or they could be getting the next big snake oil.
I've been around this scene (and m.net) for too long to not recognize this pattern. It goes like this:
1) new part comes out from a vendor. It looks good on paper and costs cheaper than it should.
2) some people ask rude questions, get banned or yelled at by fanboys.
3) People start ordering and using product.
4) some customers begin reporting problems, are yelled at for installing product incorrectly or having ulterior motives, Product is perfect and a great deal. **** you for disagreeing.
5) manufacturer releases solution to problem, suddenly problem existed all along and is really serious
The other pattern is that various engineer types find a problem that is holding back hp potential (stock ignition, fuel rail or oil pump all qualify) and all the fanboys flip out and chase them off the boards. Then shiv or jason come back with more proof and still get chased off. Then finally FM agrees with them and suddenly it was obvious all along that this problem existed.

He indeed does work there, or at least used to. I've hung out with him a few times. He drives a MSPNP ITB NA. One night after a meet, dopplebadger, Foo, and myself did a pull on the interstate. ITB FTL.

Anyway, it's not my fault they didn't do their homework and set themselves up to be embarrassed by the first customer that came along with an obvious question. Actually knowing what you're doing is what justifies people buying products from a company- if you have less expertise than your customers, they might as well save money and just buy directly from your pool of suppliers.
