Anyone ever tow with a WRX?
Hey everyone I currently own two miatas and I am liking them for DD duties less and less. My commute is about 30 miles round trip, with no curves, just straight highway. I travel out of town a lot as well and having dealt with the lack of space for the last 5 years, I am wanting to get something bigger. I have been looking into WRX's and they seem to fit the bill for what I want. Torque for passing on the highway, 25 mpg if you relax on the highway, and I like the wagon for how much room they have. I am also wanting to get into motorcycles (never ridden even once) and so checking around the internet has shown me that people tow a good bit of stuff with their WRX's. I think a good combo would be a DD WRX and then a motorcycle for fun. I could also tow the bike around pretty easily, it seems. Anybody do anything similar?

I was told at a subaru dealer that, though it's not published, they recommend a max of 3000lbs for a manual fxt or a manual lgt. If you buy auto or the n/a version, I was told not to exceed factory ratings.
I was told that the most on an impreza (any version) should be ~2000lbs.
All that is for the previous gen lgt, fxt and impreza.

I found this http://www.abiketow.com/ which is even more compact and much lighter than a regular trailer. Anybody have any thoughts on it?

My DD is an '07 Forester XT Sport - more or less a WRX wagon with more interior space and ground clearance. I tow a small 4x8 trailer frequently for everything from trips to the dump to hauling lumber, dirt and bark mulch.
I'd have no qualms about throwing a bike or two behind it.
