I get **** all the time from people. Being attached to an infantry battalion is not ideal for owning a miata.

In Florida, you are actually required to leave or take an *** whipping if you have a CWP and have a gun on you. Exceptions include 1. If they have a weapon and you cannot retreat, 2. If they are in the act of committing a "forcible felony" (carjacking, armed robbery, rape, and a couple of very specific others), 3. You are in your own home and are in imminent danger. 4. If there is more than one assailant and you cannot retreat, 5. If the assailant has enough of a size advantage over you that a jury would believe one strike from him would render you unable to defend yourself (good luck with the jury) and you are unable to retreat.

The act of staying and shooting someone instead of driving away from the situation when you have the opportunity means second degree murder.

Oh, and good luck with the "holding them until the police get there." Holding them at gunpoint makes you guilty of assault. Pointing a gun at anyone makes you guilty of assault. Holding them at gunpoint will get you shot or at least forcibly disarmed by the officer when he arrives to take you to jail. Assault with a deadly weapon vs. disorderly conduct and/or misdemeanor assault means everybody goes to jail and you get the greater charge. Congratulations, felon, you won't ever get to own a gun again.

That is why guns are best used by responsible people who can control themselves, understand the law(both written and case law), and make well reasoned decisions. If you have no control over your emotions, they will just get you in more trouble.

Good luck with the attempted second degree murder charge when you shoot the guy in the leg, felon.

In high school I had my TR4 moved for me, took me a hour to find parked around the block. They stole the doors off my VW Thing once, and hid them in the back of a random truck. I had some random girl with me in my TR4 heading back to class with the top down. Some punk kids managed to land a M80 in the rear package shelf. Scared the hell out of us when it went off. I saw the little punks laughing in the rear view. Slammed on the brakes lit it up in reverse, I was ready to run the fawkers down. They ran into there house on the corner. I never let off hopped the curb through the hedge right to there front door. If it wasn't for the girl in the passenger seat I was ready to kick the door down. But she talked me out of it, so I dropped the clutch removed quite a bit of lawn, and left some marks on there walkway. I had serious anger issues then. :(

When I lived in Mountain View I owned a Mica Yellow SE Miata. After 3 months I went out side one morning to go to work and found a flat tire. No biggie, figured I got a nail. Upon further inspection I could see it was stabbed, multiple times, with what appeared to be the dullest knife out there. They tried to stab the other 3 but couldn't LOL They also attempted to stab the top in three spots. They got through on a corner. It was such a pathetic attempt and vandalism I actually laughed a little. Insurance covered a new top, tire, and a rental car for a week.

Also if Im not mistaken dont forget the two-step rule. Gun and magazine have to be in separate locations when in an automobile, so it will take two steps for you to load the gun before firing.

Not accurate. First of all, an unloaded gun is useless. You might as well carry a can opener. Secondly, the law (written) has determined that it can be loaded but must be "securely encased". Case law has determined that in a glove compartment with a latch is securely encased. In a center console with a latch is securely encased. In a shoebox on the passenger seat is securely encased. In a gun rug with a zipper is securely encased. In a holster with a snap that does not allow the trigger to be accessed without unsnapping it, it is considered to be securely encased. A paper bag is not securely encased because the gun can still be operated through a paper bag. You will need a permit if it is concealed "on or about your person" and not "securely encased." Read the book that the cops read in the academy and that they sell at every gun show in the state: Florida Firearms -- Law, Use & Ownership BOOK FOR SALE by Author JON H. GUTMACHER, Esq.
It has all of the laws(written and case) and scenarios spelled out in entertaining detail. All of your "what if's" are answered. There is more misinformation regarding gun law out in the general public than misinformation about sex in a room full of fourth graders.

The book is cheaper than bail will be...

BTW - this applies only to Florida.

As of October 1st 2005 in Florida you no longer have the "duty to retreat" if threatened in public. You can hold your ground and use lethal force. At least thats what the internet says. I think its the same now for Alabama since they did away with the duty to retreat portion.

Well there were a lot of changes on gun law. I remember there was a lot of talk about them about a year or so ago but that was going on when a buddy I worked with got fired, he was really into all that ****, since then I only hear about guns when girls are checking me out a the pool....

I just don't understand people that will vandalize property or verbally/physically attack someone that has done absolutely nothing to them. These people really need someone to pull a gun on them and, at the very least, give them a permanent reminder of why they don't need to pull that crap anymore. Idiots want to go around picking fights with everyone, I don't see how it's their victim's fault when they bite off more than they can chew. I'd love to be on that jury.

I don't get how all you guys have so many problems. I've owned a miata for 5 years and never had one single problem. It's actually the total opposite, I can't go for a ride without people complimenting my car. I'm kinda glad tho cause I have the worst temper in the world, I could never just drive away like most of you. If someone called me a *** I would pull the mother ****** out of the car beat his *** and shove my **** in his mouth and tell him to call me a *** now, and I'm seriously not bullshitting now

I'd rather not have to share this earth with those people. If you do stuff like that for no reason, something is clearly not right in your head. I have no pity for you if you **** off the wrong person for no reason and get killed. Tough ****.

Oh great, look what I have to look forward to... The ricer body kit will surely increase my impending pain/disgust. I doubt my size will help me much until I am more vulnerable. (6'4")

Quite honestly I don't have any pity on people who pick on others then get fucked up in the end.

I understand its a part of life to get picked on, but maybe if someone would stop and pull their head outta' da butt and ******* THINK about something they're doing.... Maybe that kid they've picked on for 10 years won't show up with an uzi. Just saying...

Exactly. Of course everyone in school at one point or another picked on another kid, even if you were the one regularly being picked on. But some people never leave that childishness behind in the 5th grade and carry it through high school, then through college, then into adulthood. Hopefully they all eventually mess with the wrong person and learn their lesson before it comes to getting killed, but if thats what it comes down to, I'm not losing any sleep over them. They should have wised up and pulled their head out of their *** like you said. Nothing is more mature than seeing a guy in his 30's trash talking and trying to start **** with someone for no other reason than they think they are Mr. Badass and they will get away with it. I just don't understand that frame of mind. I'm too layed back and relaxed to try and start trouble, I try to avoid it any chance I can. Leave me alone and there will be no problems.

I've never been a real violent person, at least sure didn't grow up with anger or violent tendency. Yeah everyone either picks on someone or gets messed with at some point growing up but there sure is a point when you should just grow the **** up and quit being a bullying loser, thug, gangsta, or whatever trashy piece of **** you think you are.. There is no excuse for any of this **** people pull, honestly.

Most of my life growing up I was a pretty passive person and normally just took peoples garbage and didn't let it get to me. Things got a little worse in highschool when I just pretty much got fed up with it. Junior year for the most part I typically took the same routes around the hall ways to and from classes. This one jerkoff who I've known for a long time always thought it was funny to try and trip me when I came by. Every day. After about 5 or 6 weeks worth of it I finally stood up to this ******* and told him if he didn't leave me alone I was going to **** him up. Sure enough, next day after mocking my warning he attempted to trip me in the hall yet again. After getting up, laughing, looking around, I took this guys head in my hand and slammed it against the wall.... as hard as I possibly could. Knocked him out cold for nearly two minutes. Never did again have to worry about that ******* or any of his friends even looking at me anymore.

At that age I wasn't tall, big, scary looking, mean, jockey.. Nothing like that. Infact I was pretty nerdy looking which hid very well the past 6 1/2 years of working out and weight lifting I did on a daily basis. During and after school.

Thats my point. Sometimes ******** like that just need to get their **** rocked REAL good just one time and they'll straighten up.
