Hmmm.

Never had my Miata vandalized. Only been shouted at once, by a couple of guidos in a Mustang. At the time, I was driving down PCH with a customer from China in the passenger's seat, so I just ignored 'em.

My '71 Beetle cabrio that I drove in the early to mid 90s (painted baby blue) was another matter. That car get keyed, broken into, had the side mirrors stolen off of it, and had the hood crushed in like somebody jumped on it. 'Course, this was all while parked on campus at UF, which probably has the highest number of drunken frat boys per capita of any town in the world.

UF: only university I've ever seen that had a bar on campus.

 

What? Seriously. At one time we had three directly on campus where I work. Now they are down to one (I think the other one still serves when there is an event on), but that is because the students union has had nothing but epic failure in teh arena of making money. Seriously who couldn't make money selling beer on a (Canadian) university?

Before the local area developed and 8000 bars opened up in walking distance going drinking on campus was the cool thing to do in the 90's. Used to get good bands, and there was (is?) nothing better than a bunch of drunk University chicks blowing off steam.

 

Yeah there are two on FSU campus + a nightclub.

 

 

There's a bar on the UCF campus too. Maybe it's a FL thing
