Looking for a Queen Bed - Any Suggestions?
Damn, beds are expensive. Looking for the best bang for the buck mattress, box spring, frame suggestions. Already went to Costco, but there's no way of knowing how it will feel with no display model.
Latex mattress is looking more and more favorable, but it's $$$.
Any suggestions?

love my latex mattress. and yes, $$$.
but consider how much time you use it and how long they last.
simple math:
lifetime of std mattress: 10 yrs
lifetime of latex mattress: often 30+ (you have to replace the cover every 10 maybe)
crappy sertasimmonsstearns spring mattress is $1200 w/10yr warranty
organic latex with customizeable firmness/softness layers and $2500 with 20yr warranty
and you dont get toxic chemicals leeching into you all night long
and dust mites can't live in the latex
and if you decide it's not firm or soft enough, you can replace layers within the first month or so for the cost of shipping only.
http://www.savvyrest.com/ is what we got. it's friggin awesome.
and a platform bed from BedWorks of Maine

(I shopped around all the online retailers to find the best price with shipping and saved about 10% of the local dealers FYI)

Go to a mattress store. Costco? No. Keep in mind that if you're not getting 50% off your boxspring/mattress set, you're paying too much. I love my Simmons postripedic (sp?). They put stiff springs around the edge so if you get close the edge you don't roll out. And they're all tied together, so if all your weight is on one, the ones around it aren't digging in.
That being said, it was very hard to choose. All of them are comfy.

one big reason I bought the mattress I did was because I didn't want to donate $1000 to the shitty customer trap that is the spring mattress industry.

I made my own bed out of dumbells and particle board and carpet and carpet pad. My back is straight as an arrow and I never have back pain. All mattresses sag and **** up the curvature of your spine.
Soft mattress make you weak, like little girl.
