Here's a tasty Concord local for this evening.

Pretty mild for an imperial, but that makes it more drinkable right?

^^That's not bad at all, but I agree it is mild. If you're looking for another from a local Concord brewery, try one of these out:

They're very nice, especially for a local!

Digging that Funky Buddha glass. We went there before and after a cruise the other week. I really enjoyed the Scotch ale and the Porter. The bar across the street "Another Castle" had some phenomenal beers on tap, as well!

I just bought 60lbs of malted barley, someday it'll be beer.

Default Beer of the Day thread

That nightshade sounds good.

Trying Kona Koko Brown porter now. It is light and sweet. Almost too sweet.

2 row?

I've been pondering buying bulk base malt for a while now. It would reduce the cost of my grain bill a decent amount, but I'd have to store the grain and also buy my own mill.

Buying in bulk saves SO much money! We used to organize local grain buys, and get 2-4 pallets of various stuff. Was a pain in the *** to break down, but so worth it! My local shop sells 2-row for $53/bag, which is great.

Apparently, this is the latest offering from the Funky Buddha brewery:

I must admit that I'm curious.

Was able to try:

Morning Bender Coffee Oatmeal Stout yesterday from Dead Armadillo Brewery. Local place, it was a food/beer tasting at a swanky downtown spot.

Food and beer were both amazing.

They only made one batch of this beer, specifically for the 3rd course of the dinner. However, a few places locally have the rest on tap and a few stores have it in 22oz bombers.

I'm going tomorrow to buy a bunch. It was outstanding. Was also very cool to talk to the head brewer/owner after the dinner, then the executive chef of JTR Group after the meal about how he came up with everything.

Very good b-day present from the mother.

The Foreign Extra is easily my favorite Gunness product, though I'll admit I haven't tried the Dublin Porter.

Fat head hop juju (freakin amazing)
Hop slam (highly overrated)
Founders project Pam (too much maple)
Ale smith cocunut speedway stout (fantastic)
Pizza boy lacto calarissian (I'm not into sours but this one was decent)
(Firkin)Free will the kragle w/ mango and jalapeño, dry hopped w/ mosaic (This was completely amazing... So amazing I had to have another)

Rogue did a run of maple bacon ale a few years back.
If you try something like that, have a pallet cleanser handy.

There is a picture of that on my BookFace circa 3-4 years ago.

It was absolutely terrible.
