I just drank one of these...
http://www.lagunitas.com/beers/littlesumpin.html
and it was probably the best beer I ever drank. At least in the top 4. Tasted like an IPA, but I was told it's more of a Wheat Ale.

Not Munich, but the Reading Liederkranz will have to do for me. Sept 30th to oct. 3rd I will be wasted on spaten and jagermeister, but remember, saurkraut is the secret to no hangovers.

I wish I could go and be your wingman...I actually wanted to have my honeymoon there, but the wife wanted something more newlywed related. We ended up going to sandals resort in st. Lucia. Oh well, someday October fest will have my presence.

Looks like it should be a pretty good festival for anyone who may be in one of the six areas that it's going on. Wish I was at home to go to the one there, oh well, Oktoberfest will have to do for me.

Nevermind, just realized all the other events have taken place, and there's just about noone here around Charlottesville.

That glass is full of fail. One, wrong glass for the beer to begin with, two it appears that you have taken a page from the Miller High Life crowd's book and frozen your glass, making the beer far too cold to actually taste it the way it's meant to be tasted. Last and most important, there's a WV logo on it, F the Mountaineers.

In other news, '97 Westvleteren 12 is drinking very nicely these days, i recommend everyone that has a stash pop one open soon.

Only good thing about that beer was the glass. Will leave the rest of those in the fridge for someone else.

And being from VA, I take it you a VT fan? 3 letters. JMU

Regular IPA's can be put in a shaker pint glass... At least I do every now and again if I'm in a pinch. Usually stick to my nonic, imperial pint, or mugs for them though. Anyways, if you didn't like the hoppiness of the Snake Dog you would hate what I did last night. Mikkeller Horizontal (kinda) tasting.

Mikkeller Cascade Single Hop IPA: B+
"Cap date 23/12/11. Served from bottle into a COAST imperial pint. Poured a hazy red-orange with a two finger off-white head that subsided to one finger slowly. Maintained nice lacing throughout. The aroma was comprised of malt and cascade hops (duh). The flavor followed the nose pretty much with a nice subtle hop bite at the end. It had a medium feel on the palate with low carbonation. Overall this was a very nicely balanced IPA. The malt selection here went really nicely with the flavor from the cascade hops. Making this one very drinkable and smooth. This is a definite must try."

Mikkeller Centennial Single Hop IPA: A
"Cap date 23/12/11. Served from bottle into a Samuel Smith imperial pint. Poured a hazy red-orange with a three finger off-white head that subsided to two fingers slowly. Maintained excellent lacing throughout. The aroma was comprised of malt and a sweet hop note from the centennial hops. The flavor was of malt, centennial hops, and pine. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a very nice and crisp IPA. This has been my favorite of the Single Hop series from Mikkeller thus far. It was perfectly balanced with a nice hop bite on the followthrough. Very nicely done IPA and a must try."

Mikkeller Nugget Single Hop IPA: A-
"Cap date 09/04/11. Served from bottle into a Stone nonic. Poured a hazy red-orange with a two finger off-white head. Maintained excellent lacing throughout. The aroma was comprised of malt and a sweet/bitter hop note. The flavor followed the nose with only a little lighter in intensity. It had a light feel on the palate with mild carbonation. Overall this was a very nice and smooth IPA from this series. The smooth flavors of this one made it very drinkable. The flavors were very subtle and not 'in your face' overpowering like some IPAs I have had in the past. Definitely the lightest one in this series that I have gotten to try. Quite enjoyable to say the least and goes great with food due to its lighter hop character."

Don\'t feel bad man... My team (Georgia Tech) lost to Kansas. I usually only put imperial ipas in my tulip or snifter. But to each their own I suppose. Haha Agreed on mmmmm Mikkeller. Awesome brewery. Picking up some of their rarer bottles this weekend.

Planning on hitting their bar in Copenhagen sooner than later, seen anything about it? If not look it up.

I'd rather lose to Kansas than JMU anyday, freakin High School team JMU is.
